Galileo's Assistant

Here, Astrology has greatly influenced my work. After a major spinal injury and infection from surgery, I spent a long time in the hospital. It was during this time that I realised how much certain 'stars' influenced my aesthetic. Just like Andy Warhol or Isaac Mizrahi, pop culture became integral to my health. 

This also led me to discover Vincenzo Viviani who in 1639, at age 17, became the student, secretary and assistant of Galileo. I felt like I kn ew him or perhaps was him in a past life.
