Love The Greyscale Everything

Moving to The United Kingdom muted my palette but also brightened it.

Seeking to change the primary focus in my work, inspired by my new surroundings,  I'm reminded of La Guernica by Picasso, Giotto’s frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel, Cy Twombly’s grey paintings and the Minimalism movement, Japanese Zen and the work of Brice Marden.

Cornwall's 's rich architectural heritage captivates me with its variety of building stones which commonly reflect the local geology, imparting local distinctiveness to historic towns, villages and rural landscapes.

The series was aptly named by my niece while on FaceTime.
